Paint by Numbers is a browser-based creative tool built around a simple idea: the photos that matter to you deserve another life beyond your camera roll. A walk by the sea, the dog in a patch of sunlight or a street you still remember can become the starting point for a painting.
We turn those images into numbered regions and a matching digital colour guide. The outline gives you a structure, not a test. Paint carefully, change a colour or leave a section unfinished for another day. It is your picture and your time.
Simple tools, honest expectations
Our generator reduces an image to a smaller palette, groups neighbouring colours and draws a printable outline. It works best with clear subjects and good contrast. Busy backgrounds and very small details can need a second attempt with fewer colours or a simpler photo.
We provide digital templates, not physical painting kits. You choose the paper, canvas, brushes and paints. Colours shown on your screen are references rather than guaranteed matches to a particular paint range.
Your memories stay yours
The image processing runs on your device. You do not need to create an account, and your chosen photos are not uploaded to our servers by this version of the tool. We think a personal creative project should stay personal.
Start with something you love
You do not need to be an artist to begin. Pick an image with a clear subject, try a modest palette and print a test page. A small, manageable painting is often a more welcoming first project than a complicated one.
